Last updated: 16 July 2026 · Applies to the 2Shift service (beta)
2Shift is a beta service, operated from Portugal, that improves and translates text you select on your Mac. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact: carolinasant@gmail.com.
| Data | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Text you select when using the shortcut | Sent to our server and to OpenAI for correction/translation | Zero — processed in memory, never stored on our servers |
| Email left when downloading | Contact and beta news | Until you request removal or the beta ends |
| Anonymous app identifier + usage counts | Enforcing daily plan limits | Counts deleted after 7 days |
| Technical metadata (timestamp, token counts, latency) | Diagnostics and abuse prevention | Logs contain no text content |
The website uses no cookies, no analytics, no trackers.
Your text travels encrypted (TLS) from your Mac to our server and on to OpenAI (subprocessor, USA), which generates the improved version. Under OpenAI's API policy, data sent to the API is not used to train models and may be retained for up to 30 days solely for abuse monitoring. We ourselves never store your text under any circumstances — not in logs, not in databases.
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, port and object regarding your data (in practice: your email and the app identifier — your text doesn't exist on our side to be requested). Write to carolinasant@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority, CNPD.
2Shift is in free beta. It is provided "as is", with no guarantees of availability, continuity or results. Features, limits and conditions may change — changes are published on this page.
The text you process is your responsibility. Results are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors — always review before sending, especially in important communications. To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2Shift accepts no liability for damages arising from use of the service during the free beta.
These terms are governed by Portuguese law.
